What's changed lately in my projects, newest first. Every change went through a pull request; DempIn's version numbers are its signed releases.

  • This siteThe site moved to brettbullock.me. Old brettbullock.dev links still work and land here.
  • This siteThe contact buttons and the guide now send you to my LinkedIn instead of handing out an email address.

  • This siteEvery visit in my stats gets a score for how likely it is to be a person: did it touch the page, and does it look like a data centre? Scanners stopped cluttering the list.

  • This sitePress and hold the guide to move it anywhere on the screen, or flick it to spin it.
  • AndromedaThe sample sky on this site takes a typed search now, and Reset really resets.
  • DempInThe demo on this site uses your camera: photograph a receipt, or pick a photo, and Claude reads it into entries.
  • This siteRewrote the copy in my own words, including why I built each project and the stories behind each role.
  • This siteUpgraded three.js from r128 to r186, trimmed to just the parts the site uses.
  • This siteAdded a strict Content-Security-Policy, and did an accessibility pass: contrast, headings, a skip link and proper dialogs.
  • This siteFaster first load: fonts served from the site, scripts that don't hold up the page, and a guide that starts once the page has settled. Lighthouse's phone score for the home page went from 37 to 96.

  • This siteThe guide's chat stays above the phone keyboard.
  • This siteEvery guide reply shows which model answered, how long it took and how many tokens it used.
  • This siteLighter pages: a slimmer guide, calmer backgrounds, and demos that pause when they're off screen.
  • This siteThe timeline, How I build and the project pages became interactive: the story behind each role, and a fun fact for every year.
  • This siteThe guide can be a bull, a lion, a giraffe or an otter.
  • This siteFirst version: the home page, a 3D guide that answers questions with Claude, and demos that run inside a phone on the page.

  • DempIn v1.5.2An activity log in Settings: receipts it read, charges it couldn't, errors and crashes. It's saved with every backup. Imported receipts now ask who paid.

  • DempIn v1.5.1Gas-pump holds cancel out when the real charge posts, and a fixed bill only skips its own amount.
  • DempIn v1.5.0Fixed a bug that quietly skipped some card purchases, and recovered the ones it had missed. A charge it can't read now stays in the notification shade instead of disappearing.
  • DempIn v1.5.0Import receipt photos, up to 10 at once.

  • AndromedaMade the map usable on a phone: one finger turns, pinch zooms, double tap zooms in.
  • AndromedaTap a star to see its passage, where it came from and the first numbers of its vector.
  • AndromedaThe constellation sits behind every tab, and each search lights up the passages it found.
  • AndromedaEvery query shows its timings and a confidence level. The timings showed answers waiting minutes on an embedding rate limit, so searches now fall back to keyword-only after about a second.
  • AndromedaFirst version: everything about turbopuffer and vector search, stored in turbopuffer, with search, cited answers and a 3D map.

  • DempIn v1.3.2The home-screen widget went through three redesigns in a day, then back to the original camera icon, recoloured to match the app.
  • DempIn v1.3.0Settle up records payments until the month is all square, and a monthly backup can go to a Google Drive folder.
  • DempIn v1.2.0Logged purchases clear their bank notification, and marking a charge as a fixed bill teaches DempIn to skip it.

  • DempInMade it shareable: a setup flow for your own budgets and an optional partner, daily backups, signed releases and CI on every change.
